Community & Charity

KLF Insurance Brokers Limited are proud to support charities both locally and abroad.

Sadananda Primary School & Adikaram Kanishta Vidyalaya  Matugama School, Sri Lanka

Following 160222 Sri Lanka Charity 03a trip to Sri Lanka, Keith Fowles visited a Wellbeing Centre on a working rubber plantation in Kalutara. He took time out to visit a local school having heard that they were poorly funded by the Government, schools under 3,000 children have no assistance.

Keith visited two local schools, one with 850 children and a smaller one with 30 children. What struck him was how well mannered the school children were and how smart their uniforms were, inspite of the fact that most of their families are very poor.

The one school motto was Respect Others – this was clearly something that they were proud of.

Having engaged with the Principals of the schools and people associated with the rubber plantation, Keith set up the charity with the sole aim of raising funds to assist the schools. So far he has provided 180 children with shoe vouchers and musical instruments.

It is KLF Insurance Brokers Limited intention to assist with toilets at the large school as currently they only have one toilet for 850 children and all the teachers.

We will keep you updated with this ongoing project and thank you for all your support.

The success of any sports club is often dictated by the strength of its support network and supply chain that delivers talented young players capable of competing at the highest level. Cobra Rugby Club is a perfect example of a club that aims to be strong from the roots upwards and that is why we have chosen to support the nine teams in the junior section. KLF Insurance Brokers is delighted to sponsor the playing strips of these young members, alongside other local companies.

Cycling for Bryan

KLF  is supporting a campaign, “CyclingforBryan”, to help fight against Motor Neuron Disease 160402 Cycling for Bryan Charity Page RESIZED(MND).  Free insurance cover was provided for a team of brave cyclist who cycled from John O’groats to Lands End at the start of May 2015, raising essential funds for the MND charity. This year insurance cover will be given for next challenge, a shorter but equally important ride from Shrewsbury to Abergavenny.

Bryan Challenor, a cousin and valued friend of Keith Fowles was diagnosed with MND in 2014. The hardest part of this diagnosis is that no doctor or specialist can explain how you develop this disease and they cannot offer any treatment either, because  sadly there isn’t any. Supporting the Motor Neuron Disease Association, which provides Bryan Challenor and his family with the back up that they need is something close to Keith’s heart.

Row Amazon

160402 Row Amazon Pic RESIZED with logo.jpgIn November 2015, five rowers from Shropshire embarked on an epic journey of adventure that had only ever been attempted once before. They rowed the total navigable length of the Amazon River for some exceptional charities.

Keith Fowles was keen to provide the much needed insurance cover required for this challenge which would see 5 men in one boat, travel 2077 miles in just 30 days. It would not be without danger, trial and tribulation but KLF Insurance Brokers was keen to assist with something that was going to raise so much for local Shropshire charities.
